Announcement made by Khamtrul Rinpoche Jigme Pema Nyinjadh

Dear ADC Members and Participants,

I would like to begin by thanking you all for your kind support in our spiritual endeavors to benefit others and ourselves, through our efforts of preserving and sharing our spiritual heritage of great masters like Drogon Tsangpa Gyare, Kunkhyen Pema Karpo, Shabdung Nawang Namgyal and great many others.

My trip to Nepal was very fruitful and His Holiness most happy with our efforts. Actually His Holiness praised us so much and I felt that I personally did not deserve it. So in truth the Blessing and thanks go to all of the Drukpa Spritual Family around the world who have been helping the lineage and the ADC in your own ways.

During the meeting in Nepal, His Holiness informed me that he felt that having a state-of-the-art assembly hall for teachings during this historical First ADC is of great importance. Further, the assembly hall can serve any of our great masters for their spiritual activities in Druk Amitabha Nepal in the future and will be beneficial in the long term. Due the blessing of His Holiness himself, the lineage Masters, the generosity of Alice Tsang, Jigme Zangmo and their families, along with the architectural skill of Zangmo sons, a wonderful assembly hall with the seating capacity of one thousand is going to be finished before April 2009. If we do not build the assembly hall it will be rather cramped because the main temple hall we already have will be occupied as the Chakrasamvara Drubpa, to be led by the monastic body of Bhutan, will be held there.

As you all know the First ADC was originally planned for Dec 29 2008 – 5 Jan 2009, however, due to the heavy rainfall and storage related issues the new assembly and guest houses will not be completed by the end of the year. The First ADC has now been postponed to 6th-15th April 2009. Though the ADC is postponed for few months I urge and request all of us to utilize the extra time to enhance our efforts to make this great spiritual event, even more successful then we envisioned before.

Right now we are in the midst of compiling the short biography and teachings of past and present masters. It is to be translated into many languages and distributed during the ADC.
